Walsh shines on Senior

Senior Again had to work in the end after cruising into contention in the handicap chase at Clonmel.

It looked only a matter of how far for Francis Flood's charge as he joined front-runner Quarryvale at the second last.

Mark Walsh sent his mount on at the final fence but he needed to get serious on the run-in to maintain his advantage, recording a length success over the long-time leader.

25/1 shot Radharc Na Mara finished best of all in third.

The JP McManus-owned winner had shown only glimpses of ability before today and was sent off a 14/1 shot.

"I have to put a lot of it down to the great ride he got from Mark," said Francis Flood junior afterwards.

"They went very fast out in front and Mark just sat out the back on him. He hadn't a whole lot left at the end but thankfully he held on and it's nice to get the prize."
