Cool Warrior kept up a family tradition when scoring in the Bishopscourt Cup at Punchestown.
John Robinson 's charge was emulating his dam, a winner of the race in 1997, by running out a game winner of the Kildare Farmers' race.
Dermot Whelan 's mount had hit the front turning for home but had last year's victor Shin A Vee for company.
The pair settled down for a good duel and it was Cool Warrior who found reserves in the closing stages, after looking beat at the last, to record a three-parts victory.
"His mother won this back in 1997 when I rode her," revealed Robinson afterwards.
"He wants dry ground. He ran in this last year but it rained the night before and turned sticky. He only finished fourth. Any day he has the ground good or better he's always in it.
"This was always the plan for him. This was the only race my uncle Peter (Lawler) wanted to win. From the day he sent the mare to the stallion this was the plan."
The winner was matched at a high of 110 in running on Betfair while runner-up Shin A Vee went as short as 1.01.
