John Nicholson's Well Tuned made it three winners in three weeks for the trainer at Limerick today, making all to win the Tote Jackpot Mares Novice Hurdle, under last season's Champion Conditional Jockey Kevin Sexton.

The daughter of Flemensfirth battled well in the closing stages for a length and three parts win over Beach Of Falesea.

Afterwards Nicholson stated “I knew there'd be no pace in the race as they were all flat mares and I told Kevin (Sexton) to let her bowl along in front if she was happy to do so. That's her trip, she had a light weight today and she'll have a rest now as she'll be in season for Galway.”

He added “it was like a disco at Kilbeggan and she blew the top when we were walking her up past the bandstand on the way to the parade ring. To me there is no sense in that and you go racing to go racing.”
