The Willie Mullins trained Westerner Lady made it fourth time lucky when landing the roscommonracecourse.ie Bumper at Roscommon this evening, under the Champion Trainer's son Patrick Mullins.

The daughter of Westerner moved into contention entering the home straight and in the end battled well to edge ahead with a final furlong to race before beating Ballybrowneybridge

Afterwards Patrick Mullins stated “the owner (Anthony Butler) has been very patient as she's been in our yard a long time.

“She's always worked well enough to win a bumper and that's why we've been so disappointed she hadn't and I gave her a bad ride the last day and changed the tactics, up in trip today.

“I thought it was a good performance and didn't think it was a bad race. She's not very big but I'd imagine she'll go hurdling. It was 2m4f today and she wants a trip without a doubt.”
