Whatareyousaying provides an upset

There was a 16/1 upset in Clonmel’s bumper as Robert Murphy’s mare Whatareyousaying made all in the hands of John Barry to relegate even money favourite Primroseandblue into second place.

Primroseandblue was returning to the track after an absence of 589 days. He was backed down from a morning price of 2/1 and was representing Willie and Paddy Mullins.

The gelding had every chance as he briefly got his head in front in the final furlong, however, Whatareyousaying battled back gamely to win by one-and-a-quarter-lengths.

Robert Murphy trains in Cappoquin, Co Waterford. He said: “She had been working great at home. She’ll go for a winners bumper next.”

It was four-and-a-half-lengths back to Flaming Hymn in third at 20/1.
