Ronan Whelan brought up his double in Dundalk with another front-running ride, this time on Pat Shanahan’s That’s Plenty (6/1) in the concluding handicap.

The win gave That’s Plenty a hat-trick since the end of September. He had two wins in Wolverhampton before tonight. He went up 9lbs for winning a seller in Dunstall Park in mid-October.

The four-year-old son of Dr Fong made all in this extended mile and two race and kept up the gallop in seeing off Caged Lightning (20/1) by half a length. Bint Nayef was back in third at 9/1. The 4/1 favourite Super Sling could make no impression in seventh.

“He’ll probably come back here again or he might go back to Wolverhampton. There’s a couple of good money races there so he might have a crack at them,” Pat Shanahan said.

“Thank God he wasn’t sold in the sales. He’s an improving horse, he stays well and he enjoys the game.”

Whelan won the second race on the card with Longfield Lad
