Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen enjoyed a most satisfying afternoon at the Curragh with a high-profile double led by Chinese White in the Audi Pretty Polly Stakes.
The Lady O'Reilly-owned mare signed off her career in style as she held Godolphin's Flying Cloud by a length and a quarter to record her first Group One success.
Weld said: "This is a very special moment. I am thrilled to have trained a first Group One winner for Lady O'Reilly who has been a fantastic patron of ours down the years. I am also delighted that Chinese White is the mare to do it.
"Chinese White has been a fantastic servant, she has won at Group Two and Group Three level and has been multiple placed at Group One level before today.
"This is her last run and it is fitting that she should go out on such a high. She is in foal to Cape Cross and retires this evening."
Weld and Smullen kicked-off their brace when Precious Gem (9-2) supplemented her recent Listed success at Limerick with victory in the Group Three Ballymacoll Stud International Stakes.
Weld said: "There is a Group One race at Deauville in August and that is likely to be her next target.
"She will be kept in training for next year and I am confident you haven't seen the best of her yet."
There was a reverse for the pair, however, when Profound Beauty had to settle for second place behind British raider Tactic in the At The Races Curragh Cup.
Paddy Power left Profound Beauty unchanged at 14-1 for the Melbourne Cup.
Aidan O'Brien and Johnny Murtagh struck in the opener as Wild Wind (7-4 favourite) narrowly landed the Tipperary Crystal EBF Fillies Maiden.
The Ballydoyle trainer doubled up with the Seamie Heffernan-ridden Roderic O'Connor (12-1) in the Barronstown Stud EBF (C & G) Maiden.
