Preview fairyhouse 13th Oct

The Fairyhouse Premier Jump Racing Weekend Mares Maiden Hurdle gets a seven-race card under way at the County Meath track and gives Celtic Cailin another chance to open her account.

Jessica Harrington s mare was first past the post at Downpatrick in August only to lose the race on appeal, and after a good second at Navan last time, she could make it 10th time lucky over timber.

Dubh Go Leir went close in three bumpers and looks a major danger, while Chasing Shadows has a fair bit to make up on Celtic Cailin on the evidence of their Navan run.

There must have been high expectations for Benevolent on his debut under Rules at Downpatrick as he was fourth as an odds-on favourite, and he could make amends in the Follow Fairyhouse On Twitter Maiden Hurdle.

Noel Meade's charge is unlikely to have an easy ride here, though, with Limerick Lane reverting to smaller obstacles after three decent chase runs last spring.

Lord Of Isenay makes his handicap debut in the Become A Member Of Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle after three good efforts in maiden events, but the likes of Regal Warrior and Free To Dream are likely to be competitive as well.

Dominetta Vitali was third at Navan last time and takes that decent form into the Fairyhouse Event Centre Maiden Hurdle.

Jolly Mac Vic has alternated between hurdles and bumpers in his four starts to date but has claims on the pick of his form, while Five Point Plan made a mistake at the first on his hurdling bow at Clonmel in April, but is a former bumper winner.

Downpatrick winner World Citizen bids to follow up in the first division of the Fairyhouse.ie Handicap Hurdle, while the second edition could be between Mister First, Hu Ha Jo and Not So White.
