Cheltenham Festival aspirations will be sharpened for Anonis if he runs with honour at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The Mags Mullins-trained seven-year-old has already won a bumper at Prestbury Park this season and was an accomplished scorer on his hurdling debut at Leopardstown over Christmas.

Anonis, who has only raced three times in his career, will now take the next step along the ladder in the Grade 2 Synergy Security Solutions Novice Hurdle over two and a half miles.

"All going well, he'll take his chance at Leopardstown," said Co. Kilkenny-based Mullins.

"It looks a good race, but it's the logical next step for him. He was a bit green at Leopardstown, but he's schooled well since then and hopefully that race will bring him on a bit.

"I'll have to talk to Barry (Connell, owner), but hopefully we can look at Cheltenham after that, though what race, I'm not sure yet."
