Adrian Heskin recorded his fourth win of the Listowel Festival as he partnered outsider Rightdownthemiddle to a surprise 25/1 success in the four runner John F McGuire Novice Chase.

Making his debut over fences today the seven-year-old son of Oscar was disappointing on his last two starts on the level but he did win a hurdle at Fairyhouse earlier in the year.

Settled in rear he improved a place before five out and was five lengths off the front two as they turned into the straight for the final time.

He closed up at the next and soon came with his challenge, getting to the front after the last before keeping on best to score by two lengths.

The 4/5 favourite Rock The World had no excuses as he finished second under Barry Geraghty for Jessica Harrington.

Michael Mulvany said afterwards: "He had a lot of schooling done before he ever ran as we were going to run him in point-to-points but he showed that he was good enough to run on the track.

"He's a good, honest little horse and Adrian gave him a fine ride. I don't know what we are going to do with him now, and I'd say the handicapper won't be too king to us."
