Trainer Philip Fenton doubled up at Tramore this afternoon when Bentelimar sprinted clear in the closing stages to run out an impressive winner of the concluding bumper.

The well-supported gelding (7/2 this morning – returned 11/10f) tracked the leaders before hitting the front coming down the hill.

Richie Kiely asked him to stretch turning for home and he soon went away to record a five-and-a-half length success over Way Wild West

The winner had been fourth in a strong looking bumper won by Fine Article at Gowran Park last month.

“He's a nice horse,” said Fenton. “He had a nice run in a hurdle (last year) and was then done for his wind in September/October.

“He'll make a lovely hurdler and will be kept on the go if he is not sold.”

The Beneficial gelding is owned by James Ryan who is a groundsman at Punchestown and Wexford.

Fenton had earlier landed the 2m5f handicap hurdle with Drive On Locky
