Betterthanalright recorded his second win in the space of a week when taking the two and three quarter miles Littleton Handicap Hurdle in commanding fashion.

Paddy Mangan, who also partnered the gelding to land a maiden hurdle at Clonmel last Thursday, again had the 6/1 chance up with the pace throughout.

The six-year-old galloped on strongly in the straight to shake off the challenge of Letterlee Star (20/1) by four lengths. The pair stretched 21 lengths clear of the 6/5 favourite Come To The Party

Winning trainer Liam Casey said, “He got in here under a 4lb penalty and did it well. He came out of the Clonmel race well, so we decided to run him.

“We might give him another run if he’s in good form, although the handicapper may have a hold of him now. He’ll come back chasing in the autumn.”
