Front-running tactics again proved successful as Blistering Dancer claimed the second division of the Sligo GAA 19th August Race Day Handicap at Sligo.

Ian Queally found a willing partner as the 5/1 shot stuck on well in the closing stages to post a three-parts-of-a-length win over 11/4 favourite Red Laser

The Pat Flynn-trained gelding had been seventh on both his previous starts this term having been placed on four occasions last year.

“He stuck at it very well. The plan was to get him to settle as he's run too free on his last two starts,” revealed Queally.

“Mr Flynn has done a lot of work with him at home and done a great job to get him to settle.”
