Willie McCreery feels Mary Tudor will relish the step up in trip for the Darley Irish Oaks at the Curragh on Saturday.
The Godolphin-owned filly won a Listed race at Navan in April over 10 furlongs on her return to action, but found the drop to a mile against her in a 1000 Guineas Trial.
Back up in trip last time out Mary Tudor only gave best to Easter Lily, who was in receipt of 3lb.
"She’s in good shape, she did her last bit of work on Tuesday, Billy Lee rode her and was very happy with her, so roll on Saturday," said McCreery.
"She would prefer a slight ease in the ground, but I thought she ran well at Naas when it was quite quick the last day. It’s going to be quick ground, though, there’s no significant rain forecast, so it is what it is.
"I think she’ll relish the step up in trip, we’ll sit until we turn into the straight anyway and wait as long as possible.
"I think if you equate the stiffer track at Navan and the softer ground at the Curragh, I’d rate them both the same and I think she’ll relish the trip myself, so I’m very positive — you have to be going into an Oaks."
