Devils Bride under Paul Townend for Willie Mullins, got off the mark at the first time of asking over fences as he took what was an incident packed Ladies Day At Roscommon On July 7th Beginners Chase.

The seven-year-old son of Helissio won a bumper on his debut over the course in June of last year and he since won a winners bumper and maiden hurdle.

He was reportedly lame after pulling up on his last outing at Navan in November and he was sent off an easy to back 4/1 chance this evening (was 11/4 this morning).

Settled just off the pace the Gigginstown House Stud owned victor travelled best into the straight and he hit the front on the run to the last.

A good jump there sealed the deal and he kept on well to score by eight lengths. Dark Vagabond who attempted to make all, plugged on to take second at 100/1 under Brian O’Connell for Iggy Madden, while Call Rog was a further half a length back in third under Mark Walsh for Mouse Morris at 28/1.

Call Rog was still in with every chance when a bad mistake at the second last resulted in Walsh losing his reigns, and he did well to retrieve them soon after. Clonbanan Lad who was sent off the 7/4 favourite, was still in with a shout when he made a mistake at the last and he was then pulled up injured on the run-in by Andrew Lynch. Green Thirty Two was hampered and unseated at the third, Lord Of Isenay fell five out, Six Sense fell at the third last when still in contention and he brought down Mister Hotelier as a result.

STEWARDS REPORTS

The Stewards fined Sabrina J. Harty, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of The Cub in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

A.E. Lynch, rider of Clonbanan Lad, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost action and pulled up.
