Srucahan made it a family double when recording his third course and distance win in the six-furlong Cunninghams Of Kildare After The Races Handicap at the Curragh.

The Kheleyf gelding was following in the hoof-prints of his younger half-brother Sruthan who took the featured Big Bad Bob Gladness Stakes earlier on the card.

Paul Deegan and Chris Hayes were again the successful trainer and jockey team as the well-backed 4/1 favourite (available at 8/1 this morning) struck the front inside the final furlong.

He was pushed out by Hayes to hold Norville by half a length, with Tylery Wonder and Elusive In Paris completing the minor placings.

Deegan said, “He obviously likes the Curragh and is as clever as they come. He’s a bit of an old rogue, and we tried a few things today putting a visor and a sheep-skin noseband on.

“He’d gone up 4lb for two seconds this year, and Chris gave him a great ride. If he hit him he would have stopped.”
