Sean O'Brien has his string in fine form at present and his Caoimhe's Delight readily justified even money favouritism to win the Online Booking (Mares) Maiden Hurdle at Limerick today.

Ridden by capable amateur jockey Ciaran Fennessy, the daughter of Blueprint went clear from two out to record an easy seven lengths win over staying on Casablanca Lily

Afterwards O'Brien stated “my dad (also Sean) passed away last month but would have been delighted to see her win as he bred her. Her winning is a good distraction for us at the moment.

He added “she is a good tough mare but I was very concerned about the ground. She has won on heavy ground but today's ground is horrendous and I was going to run her at Fairyhouse on Tuesday instead.

“She won her point to point on good ground so she'd have no bother on better ground. We'll keep her in mares races for now and she'll stay down this side of the country – away from Willie Mullins if possible!”
