Charline in search of further American riches Former Marco Botti inmate Euro Charline is to go in search of further glory at the top level following her victory in the Beverly D. Stakes. The three-year-old filly, owned by Team Valor International, signed off for the Newmarket trainer in the Grade One at Arlington last month and has remained in the USA, joining Todd Pletcher's stable. She is now being aimed at the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at Keeneland on October 11. "We sent her to Todd Pletcher and we are pointing towards the Queen Elizabeth, a nine-furlong $500,000 Grade One," said syndicate head Barry Irwin. "It would be, for an American filly, the best three-year-old fillies' race on the grass we have to offer. "She had so much bad luck earlier on in the season. At Newmarket she had no room (in the 1000 Guineas) and in the Coronation (at Royal Ascot) she got stuck inside and couldn't get out. "I thought it was only a matter of time, but it still takes the right day to do it."
