The 12yo Un Hinged just got the better of the well backed favourite Raptor (7/2 into 5/2 on course) to win the Coleman Tunnelling Ireland, U.K. and Africa Handicap Chase over 2m, which was sponsored by his trainer/owner John Coleman.

The versatile son of Danetime was having his first start over fences since June of last year with his last nine runs coming on the level.

He was recording his tenth career victory this evening and his second over fences. He won a Grade B, Novice Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse last April and since won a 1m 2f Apprentice Handicap at Leopardstown in August.

Ridden by David Casey, the 14/1 shot, raced in mid-division early on went second entering the straight.

He disputed the lead with the runner-up as they approached the last and despite being narrowly headed on the run-in he battled back gamely to just get up on the line to win by a nose from Raptor in second.

The pair went eighteen lengths clear of the third, who was Last Time D’Albain at 4/1 for Liam Cusack and Paddy Flood. Uncle Tom Cobley under Ben Dalton for Conor O’Dwyer crashed out at the last when a beaten third.

Winning trainer John Coleman said afterwards: "That was fantastic for a 12yo, he hasn't seen a fence for a while but he jumped like a buck. Casey gave him a perfect ride, identical to the ride he gave him at Fairyhouse last year."
