Cross-country check pushed back to noon

Officials at Cheltenham have decided to have another look at the cross country course ahead of racing this afternoon.

An inspection at 10am proved inconclusive with Clerk of the course Simon Claisse now planning to look again at 12 noon.

Spokesman Andy Clifton said: "It's still improving. I think the wind is probably keeping the temperature down a bit, but we remain hopeful and Simon will look again at noon."

While the conventional track is fit to race, the cross country course is reported to be frozen in places.
