The Family Value Median Auction Fillies Maiden at Dundalk this evening looked a particularly weak contest with victory in the end going to the heavily backed 4/7 favourite Zahr Alyasmeen under Kevin Manning.

The daughter of Iffraaj, absent for 211 days, eventually wore down the front running and 61 rated Kanes Pass close home.

Afterwards winning trainer Paul Deegan stated “Zahr Alyasmeen was a big weak two year old and we probably brought he back her too quick after her first run.

“The trip was short enough for her today and especially when they went so steady. Hopefully we'll have another day or two in her and she could come back here again before the turf starts.”
