Impeccably bred Exotic (by Galileo out of Ice Queen) came from last to first with a sweeping move round the outside to win the mile and a half maiden on debut.

The margin was three lengths as the three-year-old filly left her rivals to dispute second place.

This winner brought up Joseph O’Brien treble and he said: “She had a little injury earlier on in the year and we took our time with her.

“She’s a nice filly and will improve a lot with racing.”

Exotic was absolutely friendless in the betting market, having been 7/4 this morning and 7/2 when chalked up in the ring. She had been scratched from her previous two engagements as she was reported to have been in season.

Punters piled into Jessica Harrington’s Tri Na Ceile from 10/1 to an SP of 4/1. There was a place dividend to be picked up as she won the race for second, half a length ahead of John Oxx’s Smolensk (4/1).

Exotic gave trainer Aidan O’Brien a Galway double today, and a third winner on the week.

Joseph O'Brien put up a pound overweight on the filly (9-1).
