Paene Magnus has thrived on the all-weather track at Dundalk and completed a hat-trick on his step up in class for the feature Carlingford Stakes.
Running in Listed company after taking a hefty hike in the ratings following two handicap successes, the Jim Bolger-trained son of Teofilo was never out of the first two as Jessie Jane took them along.
Kevin Manning eased him into the lead at the quarter-mile pole and the 7-4 favourite ran on strongly to hold Muck 'N' Brass by three-quarters of a length without ever looking as if he would be pegged back.
Willie Mullins has bigger fish to fry with Hurricane Fly due out in the Morgiana Hurdle on Sunday, but in the meantime he landed a two-year-old winner with Levanto in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden (Div I).
It wasn't all good for the Mullins family, however, as jockey Danny lost the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap in the stewards' room after getting tricky ride First Friday home a nose in front of Joanna Morgan's Balmont Flyer (10-3), the mount of Pat Smullen.
The second division of the juvenile maiden was another one for Murtagh, this time teaming up with John Oxx on 8-11 favourite Little White Cloud, who asserted a furlong out and was driven out to beat Mischief N Mayhem by a length.
The finish of the Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk Apprentice Handicap was dominated by female jockeys, with Samantha Bell flying home on Kevin Prendergast's Maude Adams (10-1) to short-head Megan Carberry on favourite Beat The Ballot.
