Great Field faces seven rivals in a fascinating eight-runner renewal of the Kerry Group Hilly Way Chase at Cork on Sunday.

The Willie Mullins-trained gelding is unbeaten over fences but has been very lightly-raced in recent years, with victory in the Grade Two Webster Cup at Navan last March the front-runner's only start in the past 19 months.

Great Field is one of two runners for owner JP McManus, with Anibale Fly also reappearing in this two-mile test.

Tony Martin’s charge finished third in last season’s Cheltenham Gold Cup, before going on to be fourth in the Grand National at Aintree.

Doctor Phoenix chased home Great Field at Navan last spring and he reopposes for Gordon Elliott, who also fields A Toi Phil under joint top weight alongside Great Field.

Special Tiara, winner of the 2017 Champion Chase at Cheltenham, is one of two runners for Henry de Bromhead along with Three Stars — while Castlegrace Paddy and Sumos Novios complete the line up.
