Paul Gilligan's Jadanli, with Alain Cawley in the plate, will be the only Irish representative in Saturday's re-arranged Coral Welsh National at Chepstow, but whilst that fellow is a 33/1 shot, it was the Irish-bred Alfie Spinner that attracted interest in the betting today.
Put up by at least one respected tipping service at 16/1, Nick William's course winner shortened up to a general 10/1 shot today for the extended three mile five furlong marathon.
Others to attract support on Wednesday were Teaforthree (won a Dromahane confined in March 2010 for Tom Barry). He is the clear favourite is all lists.
Paul Nicholl's Michel Le Bon is well-fancied and he was clipped in a couple of places today whilst Sona Sasta (won a Sligo 'point' in May 2008 for Eoin Larkin) is also in single figure odds.
Others that the layers are taking no chances with are Giles Cross, Monbeg Dude (won 'between the flags' here for Colin Bowe), Soll (won in Ireland for the late Philip Goulding and for Willie Mullins) and Our Island (victorious at Dromahane for Mikey O'Connor). (EM)
