Ger Lyons has put Psychedelic Funk and Medicine Jack in the Timeform Jury Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock on Saturday.

Psychedelic Funk ran only on Sunday when chasing home Caravaggio at Naas, whereas Medicine Jack hasn't been seen since struggling in the Middle Park in September, but did win the Railway Stakes last year.

Further Irish interest comes in the form of Alphabet from the yard of Aidan O'Brien.

The Andrew Balding-trained Poet's Vanity is also one of 14 confirmations for the six-furlong Group Two at the weekend.

Balding said: "The thought was that she didn't stay in the 1000 Guineas, which was a bit of a surprise. We will drop her right back in trip now down to six furlongs and go for the Sandy Lane. I didn't think this would be her next race, but she didn't stay the mile."

Charlie McBride hopes to unleash Spiritual Lady, who has not been seen out since winning a Listed event at Newmarket in October, but the forecast suggests his hopes for some ease in the ground might be dashed.

McBride said: "She will go to Haydock on Saturday, provided the ground has soft in the description. She wants cut in the ground and can't have fast ground.

"We can't risk her on anything quicker than good ground, otherwise it would be a disaster.

"She had a little niggling problem about a month ago, but it was nothing serious and she seems well enough now.

"She has done very well over the winter and has strengthened up and improved again. I am looking forward to running her, but if the rain stays away from Haydock she will be staying in her box."

Clive Cox confirmed last year's Mill Reef Stakes hero Harry Angel remains on course to make his next appearance in the Sandy Lane having finished second, when giving weight away, in a Group Three at Ascot on his seasonal return.

Cox said: "Harry Angel will go to Haydock this weekend and he is in great nick."

William Haggas could be represented by both Second Thought, winner of the three-year-old event on All-Weather Championships Finals Day, and Mubtasim, while Richard Fahey is another who could be double-handed after leaving in both Brian The Snail and Private Matter.

The entry list is completed by Clem Fandango (Keith Dalgleish), Danielsflyer (David Barron), Legendary Lunch (Richard Hannon) and Mystic Dawn (David Simcock).
