Tony Martin is excited by what the future holds for Clonard Street following his fine effort in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

The newly-purchased JP McManus recruit belied big odds to take second spot behind Investec Derby second-favourite Ol' Man River in the Group Two over a mile, having previously won on his debut at Galway.

Plans remain fluid for the son of Archipenko, but Martin believes Clonard Street's versatility means connections can soon explore several lines of development.

The County Meath handler said: "He looks a good horse and we were very happy with him on Sunday.

"He ran really well in a good race so that obviously opens up a few options.

"He went on that fast ground, but he's got a high old action so I'm sure he would also be fine (with cut in the ground).

"We haven't a clue where he'll go yet, but it's early days and we'll see how he comes out of the Curragh first.

"We were all thrilled with him. It was a fact-finding mission and we definitely came out the plus side of it.

"I haven't a clue whether he will run again this season, it's far too early to say anything like that. We will see how he is, but we learned a lot.

"The winner is obviously held in high regard but, as I say, we got nothing only pluses and positives out of ours."
