The reigning Champion Hunter Chaser and recent big money purchase, Mossey Joe could make his debut for his new connections in a point-to-point next weekend. Now in the ownership of Barry Connell and running for handler Enda Bolger, Mossey Joe is one of eight entries in the Open at Kildorrery.

Others engaged here are last Sunday's Punchestown scorer, The Hollinwell, and former Galway Plate hero Sir Frederick.

This could be a preparatory run for Mossey Joe, for the Foxhunters at Cheltenham, a race for which he is presently heading the market.

Later in the day, another point-to-point graduate, donning the Connell silks, Golantilla is a possibility for the bumper at Naas. It could be back to Cheltenham for a crack at the Champion Bumper, where he finished third last year, for Tony Martin's charge, should Sunday's assignment go to plan.

As p2p.ie have pointed out, Connell has enjoyed considerable success with former Irish 'pointers,' with the likes of The Tullow Tank and Foxrock also on his Cheltenham team.
