Riven Light could make his Australian debut in the Caulfield Stakes on October 14.

The five-year-old endured a largely disappointing campaign as a novice hurdler during the last National Hunt season, but has been fine form on the Flat this summer, winning three of his last four starts.

He was an impressive winner of the BMW Mile at the Galway Festival and has since landed a conditions race at Tipperary and a Listed prize at Listowel to earn himself a trip Down Under.

The Cox Plate and the Caulfield Cup have been mooted as possible targets, but Mullins has identified the Caulfield Stakes - won last year by Australian wonder-mare Winx - as a likely first port of call.

"Riven Light will probably go for the Caulfield Stakes as his first race (in Australia) and then see how he goes from there," said the Closutton handler.

Mullins is set to send a team of four horses across the globe, adding: " Riven Light and Wicklow Brave are both in quarantine at the moment, and Thomas Hobson and Max Dynamite both go (into quarantine) next week."
