Trainer Jessica Harrington has booked reigning British Champion jockey Oisin Murphy to ride her leading Qipco 1000 Guineas contender Mllisle at Newmarket next weekend.

Regular pilot Shane Foley is not travelling over to England as he would be required to quarantine for 14 days on his return to Ireland under government Covid 19 regulations.

Millisle beat a high-class field when winning the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes over the course at Newmarket on her final two-year-old start at the end of September.

The daughter of Starspangledbanner has yet to race beyond six furlongs but Murphy is hopeful that she will stay the extra two furlongs of next week's race.

He told Sky Sports Racing: “I think she will. She stayed very well in the Cheveley Park, I know it was only six furlongs, but Shane couldn’t pull her up after the line.

“She’s a daughter of Starspangledbanner out of a miling family, so you’d be very hopeful she’d get the trip and if Jessie believes so, I think we should all get some confidence from that.

“I’m thrilled to be asked to ride her, she’s a really nice ride to pick up.”
