Overturn made it two from two over fences by landing the 1stsecuritysolutions.co.uk Novices' Chase at Doncaster.

Sent off at 2/9 and faced with just three rivals, Jason Maguire sent his mount to the front to set the pace in what's now his customary fashion.

Tracked throughout by Conquisto, Overturn wasn't overly-impressive at his fences early on but neither did he ever look like coming to grief, and he certainly warmed to the task.

A bold jump six from home saw the partnership go three lengths clear of Conquisto and that margin gradually increased to the final fence, where Overturn was again neat and accurate.

Kept up to his work, Donald McCain's charge had 25 lengths in hand over Conquisto at the line, with Attaglance and What Er Say never threatening to land any sort of blow.

"It's grand," McCain told At The Races.

"It's two and a half on dead ground so we've gone fairly sensibly before turning in.

"He was just very, very professional. He jumped straight as a die, he's enjoyed it and there'll be plenty of improvement.

"He's a wonderful little horse, he's so enthusiastic...loads of scope."

McCain confirmed that the plan was a return to Doncaster before a crack at the Racing Post Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham, a race for which he's a 5/1 chance with Sky Bet.
