Plough Boy aims to go one better in Ballybrit

Garvan Donnelly's Plough Boy has been primed for his return to Galway after being pipped into second at last year's Festival.

The Dandy Man gelding arrived at Ballybrit in the middle of a golden summer of 2015 which yielded victories at Tipperary, Down Royal and Killarney.

However, he was collared in the final strides of an extended mile handicap as Bribe The Bouncer took the honours.

Donnelly believes a drop in trip for Tuesday's seven-furlong Caulfield Industrial Handicap will aid the five-year-old's chances.

He said: "We have Plough Boy in on the Tuesday. He won three for us last year. He was just beaten a short head in Galway last year and I'm looking forward to running him now.

"Back to seven furlongs in Galway will suit him - he has been running over a mile. He has been running good races and the handicapper has given him no chance really this year. If we get a nice draw, we would hope for the best."
