The Tommy Stack trained Accepted maintained his unbeaten record in the Excelebration Tipperary Listed Stakes at Tipperary today and will now bid to emulate his sire Approve in an attempt to win the Gimcrack Stakes at York.

With Stack's stable jockey Wayne Lordan in England and successful on Slade Power in the July Cup, Accepted, the 5/4 favourite, was ridden by Bill Lee and eventually overcame a wide drawn wide in stall one before quickening well in the closing stages to beat Simply A Star by a half length.

Stack was present but represented by his son Fozzy Stack who later stated “he had to race on the worst of the ground the whole way today and did well to win.

“We didn't want to make the running at the Curragh (when winning on debut) as he's a big, raw horse but he does have loads of pace. We'll aim him at the Gimcrack Stakes next.”

Accepted's sire Approve won the 2010 renewal of the Gimcrack on what was his last win, on his only year racing, as a two year old. Accepted, who currently stands at Morristown Lattin Stud for E5,000, is one of Approve's first crop and is his first black-type winner.
