Veteran Selection Box bounced back winning ways at Galway today, causing a 14/1 upset, under Paddy Mangan, in the Ennis Lifts Handicap Chase.

Afterwards winning trainer Colin McBratney stated “Selection Box is an eleven year old but keeps surprising us! He is a smashing horse and is so tough.

“This was a lovely pot to win and it was his owner Stephen Elliott (one of the four member Belfast based Web Law Racing Syndicate) that suggested this race to run in.”

The race was marred by the loss of Cheltenham runner-up and Kicking King's half brother Four Commanders who died following a heavy fall at the fence past the stands.
