Preview downpatrick 14th Nov

Willie Mullins has a trio of interesting contenders at Downpatrick, starting with Sarabad in the opening Northern Ireland Maiden Hurdle at 12.35.

The French import showed some decent form over timber at Auteuil, and though he struggled in two starts on his arrival in Ireland, another summer on his back may have helped him acclimatise.

Bottle Rattler won a bumper here on his only previous start and looks a serious contender, while Kilmainham and Ussius are others to note.

Mullins gives Inish Island another chance to open his account in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Hurdle, having placed three times in four starts earlier this year.

His biggest rival could be Ancient Days, who has found just one too good on his last two outings, while Solidago is interesting on his debut over timber.

Mullins' final runner comes in the November Flat Race and though his Bally Longford failed to win in two starts between the flags, the trainer's expertise in bumpers could be enough for him to see off Curley Bill and Balboni.

Jetson has shown plenty over fences in two starts to date and the smart hurdler will be out to open his chasing account in the Autumn Beginners Chase.

Jessica Harrington's charge was rated some way clear of his rivals over timber, though Latin Connection scored at Down Royal last time and North Star Lad is expected to make a decent chaser.

The Get Ready For Christmas Beginners Chase looks a much more open affair, though Lookoutnow ran well behind Benefficient last time and could have the edge over Blaze Of Fire and Paudi The Punter.

High Talk will be out to turn consistent placed efforts into a victory in the Mobile Handicap Hurdle, while the Bingo Handicap Chase could be between Streedagh Lady and Clancy Strand.
