The Listowel Festival continues on Friday, with the valuable Guinness Handicap the feature on an eight-race mixed card.
The veteran Rock Critic has been a classy operator in his time and lines up following his reappearance run at Leopardstown last week, but he takes on some progressive younger legs, not least the hat-trick seeking Breathe Easy, who is still lightly raced and was a game winner at the Curragh last month.
Another who still appears to be going forward is Naas scorer Vector Force, while Hasanour ran a blinder in the Irish Cambridgeshire and there are surely more races to be won with him.
The action kicks off at 2.00 with the John & Terry Moriarty Memorial Handicap, in which Count Of Carabass makes a quick reappearance having stayed on really well to score over this C & D on Monday.
Slipper Orchid caught the eye when making late gains to finish fourth in a Listed race at the Galway Festival and the 7f specialist would appear to have plenty in her favour in the South Western Scrap Metal Handicap, although Toccata Blue, second at Naas latest, and Northern Rocked, who is capable of better than he produced last time, are just two more who could get involved.
The Southampton Goodwill Chase is the pick of the jumps action and the Dessie Hughes-trained Art Of Logistics might have been well placed to resume winning ways having turned in another solid display when fifth in a competitive handicap at Killarney.
Hughes appears to have further strong claims courtesy of Tiger Trek, who goes in the John J. Galvin Maiden Hurdle. The five-year-old didn't do a great deal wrong when second at Kilbeggan and sets the standard on that form.
Much more competitive fare is expected in the John Francis (QR) Handicap Hurdle, but Minella Tweet impressed when breaking his duck here earlier in the week and seems well treated under a 6lb penalty.
