Free-running Beauty Inspire ground his rivals down in the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh.
Colin Keane 's mount went off the 1/2 favourite to account for his four rivals and in the early stages was very free in behind Hadman and Andreas Vesalius
He travelled better in the final couple of furlongs and was ridden into a narrow lead in the final furlong.
Ger Lyons' Mehmas colt finished his race off well to put Andreas Vesalius (14/1) away by a length and a quarter.
Keane said: "I was a little bit disappointed the way he was like that (keen) as you see beforehand he goes down like a lamb. He doesn't usually do that at home. He is only a baby and having his second racecourse start so maybe he was a little bit fresh and eager to get on with it.
"I kind of gave up sitting against him and I tried to come away from Shane (Crosse, on Hadman) a little bit and fill himself back up. I gave him a chance to get his breath back.
"I was impressed the way he toughed it out considering the way he did it. I'd like to think you would see a better horse the next day with that experience under his belt hopefully."
Assistant trainer Shane Lyons said: “He wasn't as visually as impressive as the first day but the first day was only a maiden.
“To be honest it looks like he hasn't learned an awful lot from the first day.
“He was very keen in the race and probably disappointed himself a little as he's a horse that can't hit the front too soon because he's still a baby.
“He did fight for Colin after. He's a Christian at home and he's obviously a very good horse.
“We'll take him home and let him tell us when he's ready again. It could be the Phoenix or the Middle Park. He has entries in York as well.
“We think he'll come on an awful lot from that, it's only his second race . It's a tough ask to come out there and do that and he's done it.
“Colin said he loved the ground, which is a help. He's a lovely horse, we knew that the first day, and we would have been disappointed today if he had been beaten.”
Beauty Inspire is now two from two having won on debut at this track last month.
