Walkon looks to take the same route as last year’s winner Quantatativeeasing by going one better in the Ironspine Charity Challenge Gold Cup (2.30) at Cheltenham on Saturday after finishing runner-up to Al Ferof in the Paddy Power Gold Cup last month.

Alan King’s versatile grey just failed to peg back Paul Nicholls runner last month despite receiving plenty of weight and carries an extra 5lb on Saturday.

Britain’s champion trainer Paul Nicholls relies on Cristal Bonus who has been heavily supported in Paddy Power’s ante-post book and is now a 6/1 shot from nearly double that price earlier in the week.

The Ditcheat handler’s runner opened his account at Down Royal in a Grade 2 Chase in November, but must lump 11-7 around Prestbury Park on Saturday.

Nicholls other runner Unioniste gets lumps of weight from his rivals at the foot of the handicap and Harry Durham’s mount was third to RSA Chase ante-post favourite Dynaste at the Open meeting. The French import made a winning debut in Britain under Daryl Jacob at Aintree in October and is unexposed.

Quantatativeeasing is looking for back-to-back wins in the 2m 5f contest after Nicky Henderson’s runner beat Medermit in this contest last year. Pulled up on his reappearance in the Paddy Power Gold Cup - the better the going, the better the chance of Barry Geraghty’s mount.

If your selection finishes second to Walkon in Saturday's race Paddy Power will refund your losing single stake.
