Wexford stages a low-key jumps card with the pick of the action coming in the Saltees Island Mares Novice Hurdle.

A number of recent winners line up for the two-mile event, not least Carries Darling and Somedaysomehow, but Tasitiocht made a favourable impression when opening her account at Navan recently and she looks another smart mare for Willie Mullins to go to war with.

The action begins at 12.15 with the Mount Leinster Maiden Hurdle and once again Mullins looks to hold strong claims, this time with Mr Groocock. The seven-year-old was heavily backed prior to winning a Clonmel bumper on his debut back in the spring and could be anything.

Similar comments, however, can be made about Venture Capital, who is highly regarded and landed a Fairyhouse bumper in fine style on debut last year before running no sort of race at Grade One level at Punchestown.

The Gorey Handicap Hurdle provides punters with a real puzzle, but Speed Dial hinted at a return to form when second at Thurles recently and he should be getting his head in front before long.

Thouva will be expected to open his account over fences in the Hook Beginners Chase having made a promising first start over the larger obstacles when third over this course and distance in October. He should have learned plenty from that and looks to have been well placed here.

Another with strong claims is Cheltenham Festival hero Salsify, who goes in the Rosslare Hunters Chase. The Foxhunters scorer was a good winner at Stratford when last seen in the summer and should have little trouble in collecting again.

Racing draws to a close with the Enniscorthy Mares Flat Race and that man Mullins could the one to beat again as he takes the wraps off Shake The Tree.
