The Alan Fleming trained, Barry Connell owned Suncroft justified strong market confidence (11/10 - 5/6f) to win the concluding Racing Again June 21st I.N.H. Bumper at Wexford today, scoring a hard-fought half length win under Steven Clements.

The son of Flemensfirth improved one placing on his runner-up effort in a Killarney bumper last month when holding off the challenge of Peacocks Secret by half a length and afterwards Cheltenham Festival winning trainer Fleming revealed “Steven did very well to win on him because he had his whip knocked out of his hand in the straight - I was wondering why the horse didn't go on and win a couple of lengths!”

He added “he (Suncroft) had to do it the hard way as they went no gallop and then they really slowed it down. It was great and he is going out to the field at the end of the week. He'll get a bit of time and come back then in the autumn - he has enough done for now. I'd say Barry (Connell) will send him hurdling after that."
