Jump racing in Britain tomorrow has been badly hit by the recent wet spell with Wincanton and Hereford both abandoned due to waterlogging, adding to the loss of Warwick this afternoon.
Wincanton Clerk of the course Barry Johnson initially called an inspection for raceday morning after substantial overnight rain.
However, he brought that check forward to 12.30pm following further rain this morning, before eventually calling the meeting off around 12 noon.
Johnson said: "We've had 34mm of rain since one o'clock this morning and it's still raining now.
"I have never seen it so wet. It is supposed to stop later today and for there to be a dry afternoon, but there is more rain forecast for tomorrow and we have no chance of recovering in time for racing."
Hereford Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen announced a lunchtime inspection earlier this morning following persistent rain, and to make matters worse a culvert (a type of drain) that runs through the centre of the course has burst.
Ottesen has had little option but to call off proceedings.
