Paul Carberry picked up a two-day whip ban at Downpatrick today which is set to rule him out of Galway Plate day at Ballybrit.

Carberry was adjudged to have used his ship above shoulder height on An Capall Mor who was collared close home in the Meet Your Friends Here Handicap Hurdle.

The suspension rules him out of Tuesday and Wednesday at the Galway festival with the Plate the feature event on the Wednesday.

The following is the Turf Club report:-

The Stewards interviewed P. Carberry, rider of An Capall Mor, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found P. Carberry in breach of Reg. 10 3(g) by using his whip with his arm above shoulder height and having taken his record into account the Stewards suspended him for two race days.
