Shark Hanlon's Hidden Cyclone put in a near-faultless display at Gowran to land the Carlow I.T. Students Day At Gowran Park December 13th Chase.

Sent straight to the front by Andrew McNamara, the 11-10 favourite jumped cleanly throughout and had most of his rivals cooked well before the home straight.

Call The Police kept up the chase in the closing stages, but Hidden Cyclone was too strong, recording a four and a quarter-length verdict.

Willie Mullins and Paul Townend sealed a double when Reine Angevine bolted up in the Follow Gowran Park On Facebook Novice Hurdle.

The even-money favourite had disappointed on her hurdling debut, but left that form well behind when easing to victory at Gowran last time.

This was a similarly authoriative performance, as Townend did not have to get too serious to beat Blacklough by six lengths.

Mullins and Townend got the ball rolling when Diakali made light work of the Gowran Park Christmas Vouchers 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle.

The 2-5 favourite consented to let Danequest cut out the early running, but once Townend decided to take it up before the home turn, he pulled 12 lengths clear of Crouching Harry at the line.

Mullins made it a treble on the day when Aupcharlie put in an impressive round of jumping to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase.

Andrew Lynch took up the riding duties this time, and after being prominent throughout on the 6-4 favourite, he came home 11 lengths clear of Toon River.

The testing conditions made it hard work, but Arthur Moore's Treat Yourself (7-2) shrugged off that and a 230-day layoff to land the Join Gowran Park Race Club Trophy Handicap Hurdle under Gareth Malone.

Happy New Year (11-4 favourite) was a brave winner of the Gowran Park Racing Club 2013 Handicap Hurdle for Oliver McKiernan, winning by five lengths from Jupitor under Shane Crimin.
