Sizing Europe will head to Cheltenham with a perfect four from four record this season after landing the feature Boylesports.com Tied Cottage Chase at Punchestown.
Henry de Bromhead's 11-year-old, who has three options at the big meeting in March, was sent straight to the front by Andrew Lynch and had only Foildubh anywhere near him throughout the race as he bowled along.
The 1-8 favourite was a little more laboured than usual, but he was never really threatened as he came home with 10 lengths to spare to win the race for a second consecutive year.
Ruby Walsh sent the seven-year-old into the lead jumping the second-last and the 9-4 shot was quicker away from the final flight than the favourite before winning their duel by a length.
It completed a double for Russell, who made a decisive move rounding the home turn on Born In Fire in the Anna Gannon 80th Birthday Maiden Hurdle and kept Mouse Morris's 25-1 shot going to hold on by a length.
Ted Walsh's Colbert Station (11-10 favourite), last seen winning the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown, took advantage of a low mark over the smaller obstacles to win the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle qualifier by two lengths, though Tony McCoy had to work hard.
