Cappella Sansevero is poised to chart a direct route to either the Qipco 2000 Guineas Stakes or the Irish equivalent a few weeks later.

Trainer Ger Lyons is a big admirer of the Showcasing colt, who got close to The Wow Signal in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot before signing off his juvenile campaign with a fourth-placed finish in the Middle Park at Newmarket.

"He's really developed," said the County Meath handler.

"I made a mistake with him last year. I should have gone for the Dewhurst with him, and not the Middle Park.

"He was only getting going at the end of the Middle Park, so the Dewhurst was the race for him.

"This year he could go straight for the Guineas, either the English or the Irish. It's probably unlikely he will have a prep run.

"The Guineas will tell us where we go after that, but I've always been adamant he's a Group One horse.

"He's a great temperament and he's gorgeous to look at it.

"I've always thought the world of him."
