Tom Mullins is set to give exciting bumper prospect Charbel a prep run at either Limerick or Fairyhouse ahead of a shot at the champion bumper at Punchestown.

The Iffraaj gelding made quite an impression when scoring on his debut at Leopardstown last month and Punchestown was immediately in the thoughts of his trainer.

The four-year-old has been entered at Limerick this Sunday and if he does not run there, Fairyhouse will be his destination, with connections keen to gain more experience before pitching him into Grade One company.

"We've stuck him in at Limerick and he might run there. If he doesn't run at Limerick he'll run at Fairyhouse in the winners' bumper," said Mullins.

"If he's going to have a go at the champion bumper at Punchestown we'd want another day out with him for more experience.

"We'll look and see what happens at the weekend and see what the ground is like.

"He's doing all the right things since he won at Leopardstown and he is strengthening up."
