Ed Dunlop is thinking of stepping up Prince Gagarin in trip following his creditable effort at the Curragh on Sunday.

Jockey Adam Kirby advised the trainer the son of Dubawi would be suited by a mile and a half after he made most of the running when third to Curvy and Giovanni Canaletto in the Group Three Gallinule Stakes.

"Prince Gagarin ran a respectable race in the Gallinule - we decided to try to make all with no other likely pace candidate in the line-up and he was only collared late," the Newmarket handler told www.edunlop.com.

"The winner is a beautifully-bred filly who is on a steep upward curve and Adam Kirby suggested we try a mile and a half with our horse now."

Prince Gagarin holds several lofty entries including in both the English and Irish Derbys.
