Shane Foley got a good tune out of Shanghai Beauty as she finished well to deprive Sweetest Taboo of victory in the five furlong handicap at Tipperary.

Sweetest Taboo looked to have put her rivals in their place in the final furlong but Shanghai Beauty motored home inside the last 150 yards and pipped her by a short head.

The winner was returned at 8/1 while the runner-up was a 4/1 chance. A Few Dollars More the 10/3 favourite, couldn't get on terms with the front pair and had to settle for third. He was two and a quarter lengths off the battle for first place.

Successful trainer Ken Condon said: "She received a super ride as Billy (Lee) looked to be travelling [on Sweetest Taboo] but Shane (Foley) took his time and it was a really good ride.

"She is relatively consistent and goes on the ground. Blinkers lit her up the last day so we left them off in favour of her usual cheekpieces today.

"We'll tip away but I'd imagine she'll go to the paddocks at some stage."

This was Shanghai Beauty's second career victory after winning in Bellewstown last summer.
