Quiet Reflection is on course to take on her elders in next month's Darley July Cup at Newmarket.

Although initially stating the Group One prize was unlikely to be her next target following victory in the Commonwealth Cup, Leyburn handler Karl Burke is now keen to let the three-year-old take her chance in the showpiece event on July 9.

The daughter of Showcasing will bid to follow in the hoofprints of Muhaarar, who successfully added the July Cup to his name after winning the inaugural running of the three-year-old-only Group One at Royal Ascot on his previous start.

Burke said: "We made the entry for the July Cup and we haven't got much choice but to take on her elders.

"She has come out of the race at Ascot in great form and is better than I thought she would be.

"She had her first canter on Friday and did a nice seven furlongs on Saturday morning. She looks fantastic and has put all her weight back on.

"I was just thinking aloud after her win at Ascot as she had been on the go for a long time as we prepared her for her first run in France from December, but she has just continued to thrive.

"If she stays in the same shape she is now then she will go for the July Cup."
