Friday's National Hunt meetings at Sedgefield and Huntingdon will have to pass precautionary morning inspections if they are to go ahead.

Officials at Sedgefield have called a 7am check due the forecast overnight temperatures and the possibility of snow.

The ground is currently described as good to soft and frost sheets have been deployed on take offs and landings to protect the ground.

Frost sheets are also in use at Huntingdon, where officials will inspect the track at 8am.

The ground there is good, good to soft in places but the prospect of snow and frost is also the cause of concern.
